Intro2GIS - Week 1 Lab

This week we learned some basic functions of GIS. Using metadata, the instructions taught me how to get specific information about cities and countries of the world. I was able to insert a color gradient by population, measure land area, make a compass and scale, and insert titles and text. This lab was very helpful, but it was also quite frustrating at times as the tools didn't work properly and I was forced to close out of the GIS Virtual Desktop app many times. Hopefully, as I become more familiar with navigating my way around the software, this won't be such a scary process. A few issues I encountered were: My cursor would disappear when inside the GIS map space The curser would default to the pan tool no matter which tool I selected The screen space would cut off the close button on windows because it was being scaled to fit my browser. When I tried to make the window full screen, the app would freeze. I could not view the example blog. I wonder if any of my
